Keep it clean and dry
Wipe the pick with a soft cloth after playing. If the grip collects residue, use a little mild soapy water, rinse it and dry it thoroughly. Avoid aggressive solvents.
Inspect the working edge
Wear is gradual. Looking at the edge under good light makes it easier to spot a change before it becomes distracting.
Store it deliberately
A small case or dedicated pocket prevents a favourite pick from being lost and keeps the edge away from keys and other hard objects.
